First the game seemed to work fine, although I couldn't use the right analog stick on my XBox360 controller, But then, the next starts the game tries to start and after a black screen I get the message "Halo Spartan Assault stopped working". It seems the keyboard and mouse controls are not that bad, although there is room for improvement. So in short, after I disconnected the controller completely the game works fine. So I follwed the suggestion to connect my controller directly to the mainboard on the back to solve it and then the game stopped working at all. I read that this seems to be a bug with either Steam and/or the controller and when games use the rumble feature, the controller can get disconnected automatically, which also happened to me. First it was connected to my frontpanel USB hub, but like I wrote above, the right analog stick didn't work. The only that worked for me was disconnecting my XBox360 controller. The only thing that may could work seems to be starting the game in windowed mode, but I haven't tried that, since I don't like playing games in windowed mode. So no compatibility mode, driver updates, disabling steam overlay, etc. I looked up a bunch of threads, discussions and it looks like nothing really helps.
